ABVI offers Vision Wellness and Preventative ServicesIn an effort to prevent vision loss, ABVI's Vision Wellness and Preventive Services provide access to free eye care in our community.

Early Vision Screening
Using state-of-the-art equipment, vision screenings are conducted at local child care centers for children between the ages of six months and five years old.

The screenings identify children at risk for vision loss from amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (misaligned eyes), refractive errors (need for glasses), and other eye disorders that often go unnoticed by parents, teachers, and pediatricians.

Vision Care for Kids
Uninsured school-age children in grades K-12 who fail a vision screening by a school nurse receive free comprehensive eye exams from volunteer eye doctors. If prescribed, ABVI provides eyeglasses free of charge.

Project Eye Care
Free eye exams are provided by volunteer eye doctors at local community health centers based on lack of insurance and income eligibility. Eyeglasses are donated and provided by partnering optical centers. Staff members assist individuals in obtaining diagnostic testing and follow-up treatment if eye disease is identified.
